A simple sour cream pie recipe that can be served with tea or made the basis of a homemade cake. Delicious and aromatic, delicate and completely dry. Add your favorite berries, pieces of fruit, dried fruits or nuts to the dough on sour cream - each time you will have a new baked goods.

I use the highest grade wheat flour, although the former is fine too. Important: depending on the manufacturer and the moisture content of the flour, its amount may differ significantly from that specified in the recipe!

  1. To prepare this simple and tasty cake, we need the following ingredients: wheat flour, sugar, sour cream, chicken eggs, baking powder, salt and odorless vegetable oil. All foods should be at room temperature.
  2. Since the dough is done quickly, turn on the oven to warm up (180 degrees). Pour 270 grams of wheat flour, one tablespoon of baking powder and a pinch of fine salt into a separate bowl. We mix everything well and preferably sift through a sieve to remove possible debris and additionally saturate the dry mixture with oxygen.
  3. Pour 200 grams of granulated sugar into another dish and break three chicken eggs.
  4. Beat with a mixer at high speed until the mass is whitened and increases in volume. The sugar crystals should dissolve almost completely.
  5. Add 160 grams of sour cream of any fat content (the fatter, the tastier and more tender the finished baked goods are). Stir in sour cream into the egg mass.
  6. It remains to pour the flour mixture from step 2 and quickly mix it into the prepared base.
  7. The dough ready for baking should be homogeneous, without lumps, and not runny or too thick. It does not hold its shape well and spreads almost immediately.
  8. A baking dish (I have a round one, with a diameter of 23 centimeters) with sides, grease with odorless vegetable oil. Literally one teaspoon will be enough. If you want, brush with a teaspoon of butter, but in this case, additionally sprinkle the surface with wheat flour, shaking off its excess. This technique is called "French shirt".
  9. We transfer the dough into the prepared form.
  10. You need to bake such a cake on sour cream in an oven preheated to 180 degrees on an average level for about 30 minutes. This time is needed for my gas oven with bottom heating (no convection). The top does not blush very much, so at the end of baking, I switch the oven to the top heating for literally 5-7 minutes. If you have an electric oven, be sure to focus on its features - the time will differ from that indicated in the recipe. It is important not to overdry the cake to keep it juicy. Check the readiness with a wooden toothpick - it came out of the dough dry, which means the dough is baked.
  11. Let the sour cream cake cool completely, after which we cut it into portions and serve with tea, coffee, milk. Or if you want, make a homemade cake out of it, layering it with your favorite filling. Cook for your health, friends, and bon appetit!
