A hearty, simple dish made from handy ingredients. You will be surprised, but cabbage stewed with potatoes and sausages is a very popular dish in many countries of the world.

  1. Pour some oil into a preheated pan, fry the sausages cut into slices until golden brown on both sides. Remove the sausages from the pan.
  2. Put the potatoes cut into large cubes in the same oil, lightly fry them.
  3. Add the coarsely chopped onions and carrots, turn the heat down, cover the pan and simmer the vegetables for 3-4 minutes, until the onions are soft.
  4. Cut the cabbage into strips, add to the pan to the vegetables. First, lightly fry, then add a little water, cover and simmer until the cabbage is soft.
  5. Stir, salt and pepper the vegetables, add some vinegar (if desired) and add a pinch of sugar.
  6. When the cabbage is soft and the liquid has evaporated, let the vegetables brown slightly.
  7. Add fried sausages, fresh chopped herbs, add a little more salt and pepper to taste. Add crushed garlic and hot peppers to taste if desired.
  8. Stir the cabbage with potatoes and sausages, and let the dish stand on low heat for 3-4 minutes to warm up the sausages.
  9. Serve stewed cabbage with potatoes and sausages as a separate dish. It is customary to serve it in the pan in which it was cooked.
