Recipes for classic cabbage rolls stewed in a pan and baked cabbage rolls in the oven practically do not differ from each other. But to taste, cabbage rolls from the oven are especially tender.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. We remove the green upper coarse leaves from the head of cabbage, they will not be useful to us. Cut the stump to a depth of 3-4 cm. Then select a pan of a suitable size, pour in water, bring to a boil, salt and lower the head of cabbage in boiling water and boil for about 3 minutes. The cabbage leaves should be soft, but not boiled or crumbly. Carefully remove the head of cabbage from the pan, remove a few soft and easily separating cabbage leaves. We repeat this several times until the required number of leaves is obtained. The smallest little leaves that are not used will remain inside.
  2. Rice groats are well washed with cold water, boiled almost until cooked in salted water, cooled and mixed with minced meat, adding finely chopped onions (you can chop onions with meat in a meat grinder), salt and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Lay out the cabbage leaf on a cutting board, cut off the thick stems to the thickness of the leaf. We spread the meat filling.
  4. We wrap it in the form of sausages.
  5. Cabbage rolls are semi-finished products.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and fry the cabbage rolls on both sides.
  7. Transfer the fried cabbage rolls to a baking dish. Pour a glass of water into the pan where cabbage rolls were fried, add flour, sour cream, tomato puree, salt to taste and let the sauce boil.
  8. Fill the cabbage rolls with sauce, cover the baking dish with foil or a lid, and put in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for 40-50 minutes.
  9. After the specified time, remove the foil (lid) and send the stuffed cabbage rolls to the oven for another 10 minutes. Baked cabbage rolls, fresh from the oven. They turn out to be very tender, soft, soaked in sauce.
