A Swedish cinnamon roll looks a bit like a snail since it is made from a spiral-rolled strip of dough.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add yeast to the milk heated to 40 °C and let it dissolve. In another bowl, melt 100 g of butter. Pour it into the milk-yeast mixture. Add 10 g of sugar and salt.
  2. Sift the flour. Gradually add it into the milk mixture and form an elastic dough that does not stick to the hands.
  3. Leave the dough covered with a towel in a warm place for 30-50 minutes.
  4. Cover the table with a thin layer of flour, lay out the dough, and begin to roll it until it is 3 mm thick. Melt the rest of the butter and grease the dough. Mix sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle them on the dough and fold them in half.
  5. Cut the dough into 3 cm wide strips. Roll each strip into a snail-like spiral and arrange them on a baking pan covered with parchment baking paper and greased with egg yolk. Put the snails into the oven heated to 200 °C for about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Call your loved ones for a delicious tea party!
