Oven-baked potatoes are very simple to prepare and a minimum of food is required. In this recipe, potatoes are baked in milk, with cheddar cheese. Of the spices, only salt and pepper are used, but you can add your favorite spices to taste.

  1. Turn the oven on so that it warms up to the maximum temperature. Cut the peeled potatoes into 0.5 cm thick slices.
  2. Place the potatoes in a bowl and sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Place one layer of potatoes in a small oiled roasting pan (approx. 2 L).
  4. Grate cheese on a coarse grater.
  5. Sprinkle half of the cheese on the bottom layer of potatoes.
  6. Bring the milk to a boil.
  7. Place the second layer of potatoes on the cheese, sprinkle with almost all the remaining cheese (leave some cheese) and pour over the hot milk.
  8. Place in a hot oven, wait for the milk to boil (after about 5 minutes), then lower the temperature to 180 degrees and cook the potatoes for about 30 minutes, until soft.
  9. If your oven is very hot on the top, then you can cover the roaster with potatoes with a lid or foil, and remove it 10 minutes before it is ready, but in this case, the milk will not evaporate all.
  10. Remove the finished potatoes from the oven and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  11. Place in the oven for another 5 minutes.
  12. Serve the baked potatoes directly in the dish they were baked in.
  13. Any meat, poultry or fish can be served with such potatoes, or baked potatoes can be served as an independent dish. Bon Appetit everyone!
