Thanks to a simple but original design, beet and potato salad with melted cheese and apple can be put on the festive table. The taste of the salad is a bit reminiscent of everyone's favorite herring under a fur coat, but due to the addition of melted cheese and an apple, this dish is much more tender and interesting.

  1. Let's start preparing the salad by boiling beets and potatoes. Boil potatoes for about 20 minutes after boiling water, beets - 1 hour. Then take the vegetables out of the water and let them cool.
  2. Cut melted cheese into small cubes. Peel the pickled cucumber if it is tough. Cut the cucumber into cubes.
  3. Onion cut into small cubes. Peel the apple and remove the seeds. To prevent the apple from turning brown, sprinkle it with lemon juice. Cut the peeled apple into small cubes.
  4. Remove the bones from the herring fillet and cut into small cubes. Peel the cooled potatoes and also cut into cubes.
  5. Combine prepared foods in a deep bowl: apple, pickled cucumber, melted cheese, onion, boiled potatoes and herring cubes. Add salt, ground black pepper and mayonnaise.
  6. Toss the salad and arrange in an oval or oblong dish.
  7. Peel the boiled beets and cut into cubes. Mix beets with sugar and vegetable oil.
  8. On the surface of the salad, make shallow oblique grooves with a spoon and carefully place the beet cubes in them.
  9. Finely chop the dill and decorate the light lettuce strips with it.
  10. Beet salad with herring, potatoes, melted cheese and apple is ready to serve. Before use, you can additionally cool the snack in the refrigerator.
