After a visit to the hairdresser, every strand is in place and the hairstyle is perfect. But waves, curls, or naturally frizzy hair make the hairstyle look unflattering after the first wash. But how does the hair sit nice and straight? What should you pay attention to when straightening?
When straightening, waves, curls, and naturally frizzy hair, in particular, require special treatment in order to achieve the desired shape. However, to straighten your hair, you have several options. But regardless of the method, the hair should never be wet but blow-dried dry or half-dry.

Straighten the hair with a flat iron
Probably the most popular and most common method is straightening the hair with a straightening iron. Here you have to consider some criteria and aspects in order not to damage the hair.
The straightening iron should be heated up in advance until it has reached the desired temperature. If the straightening iron has a temperature controller, a lower temperature should be set for the time being.
After you have washed your hair and blow-dried it, you should divide it into individual sections. Before the straightening process, the individual strands should also be treated with a protective spray. The strand is then pulled down evenly from the beginning. However, the straightening iron should never get hairy in one place for more than 5 seconds to avoid heat shock.
Due to the high temperature of the straightening iron, the hair can now be straightened and brought into the desired shape within a few minutes. However, it is recommended that you use a treatment or conditioner before straightening, as the high temperature can affect and damage the structure of the hair.
Straighten the hair with a hairdryer and a round brush
In addition to using a straightening iron, the hair can also be straightened with a hairdryer. But here, too, the hair should be blow-dried semi-dry in advance. In order to also protect the hair from the high heat, it is also worth taking care of the hair beforehand with treatment or conditioner when blow-drying.
The hair is then divided into individual strands and pulled straight with a round brush from the root to the tips and dried completely in this way. However, in order to give the roots a certain volume despite the smoothness, the roots should be blow-dried with a round brush against the direction of hair growth.

The hair can be straightened and shaped with a straightening iron or a hairdryer. However, since the hair is stressed by the high temperatures when straightening, treatment should be used in advance.
