Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee – Invented in 2016, already available at Starbucks in 2017. Like many good inventions, the Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee owes its existence to chance.

And again a new coffee creation conquers the market. The Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee is the perfect summer drink and scores with an individual taste.

A new beer pump was installed at a regular coffee shop in Oregon, USA. Since the barista working there was present, he also wanted to use this opportunity to discuss something with the owner – namely that you absolutely had to jump on the “iced coffee” train with your café. As a joke, the owner then suggested simply running the iced coffee through the new dispenser. That way you can save a lot of time. Not a bad idea at all! The barista and the owner of the café came to this conclusion and the Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee was born.

Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee vs Classic Iced Coffee

The question is, of course, what distinguishes the new type of iced coffee from the already known one. It is worth taking a look at the production and the taste of the two drinks:

Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee sounds extraordinary, if not dangerous. His little brother, the Iced Coffee, on the other hand, seems quite harmless and uninteresting. In fact, this iced coffee almost sounds like an explosive. Does the nitro come from nitroglycerin? With a little imagination you can certainly see a connection here. However, the ultimate nature is quite different and easily explained.
The thing with the nitro: The ingredient is just an abbreviation for nitrogen, which comes from the English and means nitrogen (nitrogen – for the chemists among us). The nitrogen mentioned is needed for the dispensing system, so that the drinks flow out of the tap in a nice, bubbling manner. So the Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee is not as dangerous as it sounds. The fact that this flows through a dispenser with the help of nitrogen definitely makes it one of the most extraordinary coffees of all.
Tapped – not poured out. The Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee comes directly from the tap and is thus poured into the glass in a different way than Iced Coffee. The normal iced coffee is simply served. Parallels to beer can quickly be drawn here. But more on that in the next point.
Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee tastes different than Iced Coffee. Two lines are used to bring out the incomparable taste of the Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee: One line delivers the coffee in a very conventional way, while the second comes out of the coffee, which is mixed with nitrogen. When tapping, both variants are then mixed into one drink. This also has an effect on the appearance: the nitro coffee looks almost confusingly similar to a Guinness. And in fact, both have the same taste. Anyone who has ever drunk the black beer from Dublin (Ireland) knows about its velvety-soft texture. This is exactly what the extraordinary Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee has.
You drink nitro coffee black! Unlike the Iced Coffee with its almost countless variants, the new version does not require any additional ingredients. Neither milk nor sugar goes into the glass, it just stays the way it comes out of the tap – another thing it has in common with Guinness.
To top it all off, the Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee is even good for the body because since it doesn’t contain any sugar, cream or any kind of syrup, it has hardly any calories. Just as many as unsweetened coffee has: a total of 5 kilocalories per 100 milliliters. This advantage makes the Nitro Cold Brew Iced Coffee a popular and trendy drink, especially in summer. So you don’t have to worry about the bikini figure and you can also have a glass or two more
