If you use your dishwasher every day, it can happen that glasses remain dull and milky. You can counteract this phenomenon with a few tips.

Why glasses become milky

Nobody likes to see cloudy or “blind” glasses after rinsing. It is not possible to give a general answer to the cause of this. According to the Industry Association for Personal Care and Detergents, there are three different causes that could be behind it. A first option is regeneration salt: This consists of pure sodium chloride and ensures that the water is softened. It is also called “ion exchanger”. If this container is not closed properly, a layer of salt can form on the glasses.

Limescale deposits can also occur. These occur when the water hardness is not set correctly or there is no more regeneration salt in the dishwasher. The lime layer is not water-soluble; so you have to treat the glass with mild acids.

A third possible cause of cloudy glasses is glass corrosion. Once this has taken place, you can no longer undo it; this is because the fine glass structure was broken by water with a low degree of hardness and a high temperature. You can often see small cracks in the glass.

This is how you get matt glasses shiny

If it is the regeneration salt, the problem can be solved quickly and easily. You have to close the salt container correctly for the next wash cycle so that no salt residue can be deposited on the glasses. If there is already a layer on the glasses, you can simply wash it off by hand or start a new rinse cycle, this time with the container closed.

If there is a layer of limescale on the glasses, you cannot wash it off with water; however, acid treatment can help. For example, you can use dishwasher tabs with a water softening function, rinse aid or an aqueous citric acid solution. If the water is already very hard, for example at more than 21° dH, you usually need additional regeneration salt.

To protect the glasses, it makes sense to use dishwasher products with zinc salt; These include, for example, dishwashing detergents with integrated glass protection. To prevent glass corrosion, you should pay attention to high-quality glasses when buying them and set the water temperature as low as possible. So that the high temperature does not attack the glass for an unnecessarily long time, you should

Natural home remedies for damaged hair and dull hair make your hair more beautiful. Doesn’t your hair always sit the way you want it to? Do you have problems with damaged, dry, or greasy hair? In the following article, you will find numerous care tips with which you can effectively care for your hair and protect it from damage even in winter under a wide variety of weather conditions.

Strength and shine for the hair, but how?

If you too would like more shine and elasticity for your hair, you can make your own care product with just a few ingredients that you are guaranteed to have at home. To do this, squeeze a lemon, filter the juice through a fine sieve and dilute it with a little water. After washing your hair, you can simply spread the juice on your hair and leave it on for at least 15 minutes.

Then rinse the hair carefully. For a long-term result, you should do this application once a month. You can just as well care for your hair with beer. After washing, you should spread the beer on damp hair, but you don’t have to rinse your hair anymore. After the hair dries, you won’t smell anything either. However, you should only use beer as a care product after every third wash so that the hair does not dry out.

Even more shine and moisture for your hair

The following moisturizing and shine application helps especially with brown or red hair: Puree 10 red, ripe cherries and banana with a bag of milk. Then mix the creamy substance with a little olive oil or alternatively with egg white. After you have washed your hair, distribute this mixture on the still damp hair, wrap your hair in aluminum foil and wrap it with a towel. Leave the mixture on for at least half an hour. This care application is especially recommended for brown hair. The shimmering shine effect occurs after the first application.

Flying hairs

In winter, hair quickly becomes statically charged, especially in heated rooms. After the usual screaming of your hands, you should rub some cream between your palms and gently stroke it over your hair. This light greasy film prevents your hair from flying and at the same time protects it from drying out. In general, you should also use combs made of natural wood, as these prevent the hair from becoming statically charged.

If you are also struggling with dull, dry hair, you can effectively counteract this problem with many home remedies, such as fruits or oils. You can easily combine the listed care tips for a particularly effective result.
