This way you save the high acquisition costs and get good service depending on the provider.

Anyone who thinks about the purchase of a
Fully automatic coffee machines, for the exquisite pleasure, should make up the yardstick. Discounter devices and coffee machines from no-name manufacturers can definitely convince with one or the other functionality-but if you want to enjoy any coffee specialty in perfection, you have to invest in a high-quality fully automatic coffee machine.

The criteria at a glance:

The diversity in particular makes the fully automatic machine so admirable: cappuccino, latte macchiato, Café au lait, café crème, espresso, caffè ristretto and much more. This pays off in particular for many users and is satisfied with every coffee lover.
With a promising and well thought -out design, your fully automatic machine also visually convinces. Here, of course, it is with you which look you choose, the tastes are different.
If you like your coffee individually and always to the point, you should rely on a fully automatic coffee machine with a large variety of functions. There are machines here that still work in a very standard basis – others have a large display and lead the user through a list of different settings. For example, with just a few clicks, you can also make individual settings regarding the milk supply, coffee strength and much more. Current fully automatic coffee machines with so -called telemetry modules can also be conveniently controlled from the computer. This can even be configured with prices, maintenance work and much more.
User -friendliness plays an increasingly important role. With a variety of coffee lovers, this is also essential and makes the entire operation easier. So the coffee tastes a little better.
As the last point, you should pay attention to the equipment of your fully automatic coffee machine. Defective components can quickly lead to problems and elaborate cleaning despite good technology inside. Unknown error codes and time -consuming repairs can quickly destroy coffee enjoyment. Therefore, do not get involved in any experiments and prefer to rely on award -winning models and renowned manufacturer brands.

Cleaning the coffee machine made easy: In our instructions we will show you which steps are involved and what you have to consider.

With the right steps to a thoroughly cleaned fully automatic coffee machine.

With a coffee machine you can conjure up delicious and enjoyable coffee. Whether it’s a caffè latte, cappuccino, milk coffee or a simple black coffee – the all-rounder machines deliver all kinds of delicacies at the touch of a button. However, so that you can always enjoy your coffee free of bacteria and germs, you should make sure that your fully automatic coffee machine is properly cleaned. The mostly extensive technology offers many points of attack, which represent sources of fire for dirt and pathogens. With the help of regular and professional cleaning, however, you can enjoy your daily coffee absolutely free of any pathogens.

Thorough cleaning of the different components

If you want to clean your coffee machine properly, you should do each component individually. Pathogens such as fecal streptococci, pseudomonas and E. coli bacteria quickly collect in uncleaned machines. The growing breeding ground also provides an excellent environment for fungi, salmonella and algae. What seems quite frightening at first glance is not really dramatic. Most germs are not pathogens and can only harm small children and people with weakened immune systems. However, preventing mold growth should always be taken seriously. If you haven’t cleaned your fully automatic coffee machine for a long time, a crust can even form on the outlet. This is a clear sign of the spread of germs. Certain components should therefore be cleaned daily. Depending on the container, simply cleaning with hot water is not enough and you should use washing-up liquid or suitable cleaning agents.

The easiest part of a fully automatic coffee machine to clean is the water tank. Depending on the water quality, limescale can quickly build up in the tank. With most devices, the water tank can be removed without any problems. Here it is then necessary to descale the container. Whether you use simple cleaning agents or descaling tablets is entirely up to you. With constant cleaning, however, warm water and washing-up liquid should be completely sufficient. The next step is to take care of the coffee bean container. In addition to dust and all kinds of germs, grease residues can also settle. Here, too, you can use warm water and washing-up liquid to remove dirt. If there are large amounts of fat residue, we also recommend using a coffee fat remover. It is best to clean this part of the machine after each complete use of the beans it contains.

In order to clean the coffee machine properly, thorough cleaning of the so-called brewing group is very important. This is the heart of the fully automatic coffee machine and therefore requires special treatment. Ground coffee and hot water meet in the brewing unit – this is where the aromas unfold and the actual coffee is created. Of course, this process leaves residues, which can quickly develop into a source of fire for bacteria. Cleaning is usually done by removing the brew group. You can then rinse them thoroughly with warm water so that residues are loosened and fall off. Aggressive cleaning agents should not be used if possible, as they could affect the subsequent brewing process. Another important component of every fully automatic coffee machine is the milk frother. If the milk residues are not removed, a large number of bacteria and germs will form here. As is so often the case, warm water and detergent helps with regular cleaning. When you clean your coffee machine, you should do it piece by piece and clean each component individually. In this way you prevent the formation of germs and pathogens in the long term.

Despite all the points that speak for a carefully cleaned coffee machine, we know how difficult it can be to keep a coffee machine clean. Especially when many different colleagues or customers are drinking coffee, not everyone feels equally responsible for cleaning and so it is inevitable that the cleaning will be forgotten or not done properly. A cleaning plan can help you with this. Simply hang it in a conspicuous place near the coffee machine – and nobody will overlook the cleaning anymore.

There is a lot of talk about fully automatic machines. But what is the truth of the stories and for whom is such a device suitable?

Coffee machines deliver comparatively bad coffee

If you talk about fully automatic coffee machines, it quickly becomes clear that the coffee from such machines can only be mediocre. In particular, supposed “coffee professionals” are critical of the taste quality of individual coffee specialties such as espressos, latte macchiatos or cappuccinos. All in all, of course, it has to be said that a fully automatic machine is not the perfect device for a specific coffee drink – it scores much more with its variety, high functionality and user-defined settings. So if you are looking for the best espresso and are not interested in other coffee variations, you would definitely be better off with an espresso machine. Nevertheless, a fully automatic coffee machine delivers a high coffee quality, which should not be underestimated and is sometimes on a gastronomic level.

How good the coffee from a fully automatic coffee machine tastes varies depending on the device. As with other things, there are bad as well as good automatic machines. If you invest a little more, you often get better machines and can therefore look forward to a great coffee taste. Modern devices also allow user-defined settings so that individual creations can be created.

Fully automatic coffee machines usually deliver better coffee than conventional coffee machines. Freshly ground coffee beans, pre-programmed processes and innovative technology ensure consistent results and meet even the highest demands. The myth that only bad coffee comes from fully automatic machines is therefore not true – no other machine can deliver such a variety of coffee drinks in a comparably high quality!

Coffee machines are often defective

“Fully automatic machines are full of technology and therefore often have a defect”. This thesis may sound logical, but unfortunately it cannot be true. In addition to smaller exceptions, fully automatic coffee machines convince with a long service life and hardly any incidents that can be mentioned. However, if you want to enjoy your device for a long time, you should take good care of it. Most defects are not due to technical defects or faulty products, but are the fault of user misconduct.

With proper care of a fully automatic coffee machine, defects are easy to avoid. Regular cleaning and descaling is important here. Hard limescale in particular can cause major damage. Here you should pay attention to the use of the right descaler. Agents that are too aggressive can also cause damage. Experience has shown that, with reasonable care, fully automatic coffee machines can last for several years without showing any major defects.

Fully automatic machines use far too much coffee

It is true that fully automatic coffee machines require a large amount of coffee, but of course the dosage also matters here. Many devices allow an individual setting. For example, those who prefer a mild aroma do not need as much coffee as someone who tends towards a strong aroma. The amount of coffee in a cup of coffee starts at around 6 grams and can go up to 13 grams or more. If you would like to use your coffee beans sparingly or prefer your own settings, you should look around for a fully automatic machine with the appropriate additional functions.

The coffee consumption is not the same for every fully automatic machine. Some machines consume more than others by default. Also, the difference to conventional coffee machines or filter coffee is not really big. The statement that the consumption here is far too high is therefore not entirely correct.

There are a lot of ways to make coffee these days. Here you can find out what advantages a fully automatic machine offers.

When is a coffee machine needed?

Coffee has been one of the most popular drinks worldwide for years. There are now countless varieties, so there is something for everyone. But the preparation of coffee drinks is not always that easy. That is why the invention of fully automatic coffee machines goes hand in hand with many advantages for coffee lovers. With this invention and the progressive development of such machines, it became much easier to prepare a delicious coffee. The coffee drinker was relieved of more and more effort and work when preparing the hot drink. In the meantime, the selection is large – because everything is represented in the range, from manual preparation to semi-automatic variants to fully automatic machines. But which machine is the right one for which application?

Depending on where the machine is used, different functions are required. Fully automatic machines are particularly suitable for your own office space. They make it easier for coffee drinkers to prepare coffee in many ways and bring many advantages. Because these machines grind the coffee themselves, froth the milk and create the desired espresso drink. In addition, fully automatic machines have a wide range in their range, which can be easily selected at the push of a button. Whether espresso, latte macchiato or cappuccino – with the help of a fully automatic coffee machine, any coffee drink can be prepared in just a few seconds. A few other functions can also be selected, such as preparation with an additional shot of cocoa or the size of the cup. What are the other advantages of a fully automatic machine and what makes it stand out? In order to make it easier to decide for or against such a fully automatic machine, it will be examined more closely.

What advantages does a fully automatic machine offer?

A fully automatic machine covers a wide range of taste preferences. Popular varieties include cappuccino and latte macchiato. An espresso can also be prepared. This turns out to be a great advantage when many coffee lovers use the machine together. Because everyone can conveniently choose their favorite drink at the push of a button and is not tied to just one drink, as is the case with a French press or an espresso machine. If necessary, certain fully automatic machines also have the function of conjuring up extra foam on the drink or regulating the strength. No previous knowledge is required for this, as the desired coffee can be selected very simply at the push of a button or via a touchscreen. In order to be familiar with such a fully automatic machine, no intensive training in the technology is necessary. A coffee drink from the fully automatic machine can also be prepared quickly and saves a lot of time. With a fully automatic machine, a more intense aroma comes into its own than with conventional filter machines. This is due to the higher water pressure that the fully automatic machine exerts. It can also process the coffee beans as a whole thanks to an integrated grinder. This improves the taste immensely as the flavors don’t linger long after the coffee bean has been ground. The full quality of the coffee bean is preserved and creates a high-quality coffee beverage.

Fully automatic machines have a brewing group or brewing unit that forms the center of the machine. The coffee is portioned by the brewing group and pressed together in the filter so that the hot water can then flow through. If the brew group holds a large amount of ground coffee at once, the coffee can be brewed more heavily. If you don’t want that, you can make two cups of coffee out of it. Some fully automatic machines also have an automatic cleaning program that makes cleaning and maintaining the machine easier, which is otherwise a bit more complex. Ideally, there is a cleaning program with which the brewing group is cleaned with 80 degree hot water and a cleaning agent intended for this purpose. This removes coffee oils (produced when the bean is ground) and scale from the machine. Another advantage of the fully automatic coffee machine is that it takes up significantly less space than the portafilter machine. This means that the fully automatic machine can be used in many, even smaller rooms.

Coffee is the Germans’ favorite drink and in many households, a fully automatic coffee machine is part of the kitchen equipment. However, you can only get coffee at the push of a button in the long run if the device is properly cared for and maintained. That’s why we have tips on how to properly clean and descale fully automatic coffee machines.

Why clean the coffee machine?

One factor that you should not neglect when using a modern fully automatic coffee machine is the cleaning effort of the machine. Proper cleaning of the machine is essential. This often depends on how the milk froth is prepared. Depending on the system, you have to spend a lot of time cleaning and maintaining the milk circuit. After all, you have to be meticulous about hygiene when using milk. Otherwise, bacteria have free rein. Mold also thrives in damp coffee residues, which is why a coffee machine can become a potential source of germs.

Clean the coffee machine properly

In the best case, you have a fully automatic coffee machine that is easy to clean. In addition to the milk froth unit, you have to clean other components of a fully automatic machine regularly in order to be able to rely on good taste and perfect functioning over the long term. Therefore, heed the following tips for cleaning fully automatic coffee machines:

  • The Brew Group should be detachable for easier cleaning.
  • Follow cleaning cycles to the letter.
  • Carry out decalcifications regularly.
  • Rinse the water tank daily.
  • Clean collection containers, collection trays, and accessible hoses daily.
  • Dishwasher-safe individual parts can be put in the dishwasher, which makes work easier.
  • Coffee fats only dissolve at a water temperature of 60 degrees. Therefore, the machines should have a special cleaning program.

When to descale the coffee machine?

It is important to clean and descale the coffee machine regularly so that the machine can function properly and give you many years of pleasure. Scale is the machine’s worst enemy. Limescale deposits clog the pipes and have a negative effect on the aroma. Depending on how hard the water is, you will need to descale more or less often. As a rule, it is advantageous to descale every three months. Modern devices offer the option of storing the water hardness and automatically prompting you when it is time to tackle the next decalcification. But the following signs also indicate that your device needs to be decalcified:

  • lack of temperature of the coffee,
  • bland taste or
  • too little water pressure.

Important after descaling:

After descaling the coffee machine, two to three runs with clear water are necessary to remove all residues from the machine. After that, it is ready to be used again to deliver an aromatic coffee.

How to properly descale a fully automatic coffee machine?

Even if cleaning vinegar has generally proven itself in the household, you must not use it for the coffee machine. Because then the plastic parts of the coffee machine can be damaged. It is therefore best to rely on the descaling agent recommended by the manufacturer. Use it as indicated in the instructions for use. You can collect the cleaning water in a sufficiently large container and use it to descale other devices, e.g. a kettle.

Alternatives to the recommended descaling agent

Descaling coffee machines require little effort, but has a big effect: it guarantees many years of good coffee from a reliably functioning machine. In addition, note tips for descaling the washing machine and dishwasher and simple instructions for descaling the kettle.

Since the agents recommended by the manufacturer are usually quite expensive, decalcification is often delayed. However, this can be quite expensive for you. Because such a lack of or no decalcification reduces the service life of the coffee machine. In addition, repairing this machine is very expensive if you do not carry out the maintenance properly and regularly. If you want to do without expensive manufacturers’ products, use descaling agents from household specialty stores or supermarkets. But note that these are not suitable for all coffee machines. Consequently, read the description on the bottle or packaging carefully! And as already mentioned, alternative agents such as cleaning vinegar, which is ideal for removing limescale in sinks or flower vases, are harmful to the coffee machine.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Are you looking for the right beans for your fully automatic coffee machine? We explain to you what you should pay attention to when buying coffee beans.

Choosing the right coffee beans: you have to pay attention to this

In principle, you can use any bean for your fully automatic coffee machine, provided it is suitable for fully automatic coffee machines. However, this does not always make sense, since, for example, different beans are usually used for a black coffee than for an espresso. But one after anonther.

In order to find the right coffee for your fully automatic coffee machine, three points are particularly important:

quality of the coffee beans
Roasting of the coffee beans
Settings of the coffee machine
Ultimately, however, it also depends on your own taste, which you will probably only find out over time. Let’s take a closer look at each point.

Two types of coffee dominate world trade

There are around 40 different types of coffee worldwide, but only two dominate the market. The Arabica bean makes up around 70 percent of world trade, the Robusta bean just over 30 percent. The two beans differ in appearance and taste. The Arabica bean is longer, flatter and oval in shape. The caffeine content is lower compared to the Robusta bean, but it is said to have a finer, slightly sweet taste. The Robusta bean is slightly smaller and has fewer fats and lipids. Therefore, their crema is a bit firmer and is therefore often used for espresso.

Coffee bean or espresso bean?

Fully automatic coffee machines work fundamentally differently than filter machines. Instead of slowly filtering the coffee, the fully automatic coffee machine works with a pressure process. This pressure is what creates an espresso.

The espresso beans that you can buy in stores are usually a blend of different types of beans that contain a higher proportion of robusta. These ensure a strong, intense taste. With a mixture of Arabica and Robusta, you can benefit from the positive properties of both beans. This makes espresso beans ideal for use in your fully automatic coffee machine.

Don’t let the term “espresso bean” fool you. The term is somewhat misleading, because the so-called espresso bean is basically a coffee bean. However, beans used for espresso are roasted darker, have more caffeine and are stronger in taste. So it can be an orientation.

This can also be the case for medium roasted coffee beans. The use for coffee crema is often noted on the packaging.

Which beans are unsuitable?

Avoid caramelized beans for the fully automatic machine. The sugar can clog the grinder in the machine and in most coffee machines this is very difficult to reach and clean. Flavored beans such as amaretto or Irish cream are also not recommended for this reason.

Caution is also required with very oily coffee beans. If the bean is very shiny, essential oils are already escaping. This is a clear sign that they shouldn’t be using these beans. The lipids come out when the coffee has been roasted past the second crack. This is often the case with dark Italian roasts.

But that doesn’t mean that you have to do without the variety altogether. Essential oils can also leak out if you have stored the coffee beans for a long time. After buying, you should use the beans relatively quickly and only store them in airtight packaging.

Roasting: Which degree of roasting for use in the fully automatic machine?

In addition to good bean quality and the bean mix, the roasting of the coffee beans is of crucial importance. In principle, a distinction is made between light, medium and dark roasting. Some roasting masters even subdivide into five degrees of roasting and indicate their roasting as medium-light or medium-dark. The different colors are caused by different roasting times. A coffee bean has over 900 different aromas that are released at different roasting temperatures. Filter coffee beans are usually roasted lighter, while espresso beans tend to be roasted darker.

Note the drum roasting process, if specified. Because drum roasting is much gentler on the bean than industrial hot air roasting, where many flavors are lost.
