Swimming in summer: This is how you protect yourself

It also makes sense to regularly apply sunscreen (at least SPF 30) to your skin to prevent sunburn. You should also drink enough water so that your body does not become dehydrated and your circulation does not become sluggish.

A head covering, an umbrella or the shade of a tree are also beneficial to protect yourself from the high levels of sunlight.

With this valuable knowledge, you are armed against dangers and nothing stands in the way of you spending a relaxed and sunny day by the water. Preferably without sunburn, accidents and injuries, but with lots of fun and a good mood!

The sun is burning, and sweat is dripping, but luckily the weekend is just around the corner! Now it’s time to throw on your bathing suit, pack the picnic blanket, and round up all your friends to go to the pool together. The cool water attracts a lot of people to the bathing establishments in the summer months, because what could be nicer than cooling off a little on a 40-degree hot day?

Bathing in the pool

Not everyone likes bathing in the public bathing lake, because who knows what is at the bottom of the water and what strange animals will kill your feet. A visit to the swimming pool is, therefore, a very good and popular alternative. But before you bravely venture off the three-meter tower or do your lengths in the pool, you should pay attention to a few things that are particularly important before and after swimming. We give all water lovers a few tips here so that the warm weekend in the outdoor pool is a complete success and has no after-effects.

1) A shower beforehand

If you jump into the water without a shower, you not only give your body a short cold shock, but also ensure that germs, sweat, dirt, and cosmetic residues spread in the pool. Although the water contains disinfecting chlorine, this cannot have a 100 percent effect with several thousand visitors. So jump under the shower before bathing and then you can splash about as you please.

2) Slowly into the water

A cooling shower beforehand not only cleanses the body but also do you good. Nevertheless, it is advisable to get into the water slowly, because the blood pressure can hardly cope with rapidly changing temperatures and increases quickly when you jump into the water at 40 degrees. The vessels could narrow and put a strain on the heart.

3) Athlete’s foot in collective showers

Flip-flops are a must-have for a visit to the swimming pool. Especially in sanitary facilities, such as toilets or collective showers, bathers quickly catch an annoying athlete’s foot, which can be easily avoided with suitable footwear. If an infestation does occur, the athlete’s foot should be treated quickly.

4) Sunscreen and liquid in hot weather

It doesn’t matter whether you spend the whole day lounging on the air mattress in the water or lying on the lawn under the parasol – sunscreen is an absolute must in the blazing sun to avoid sunburn. Once the sunburn is there, the suffering is great and the joy of subsequent amusing visits to the swimming pool is gone. Then it is important to treat the sunburn properly. Of course, it is also important to drink enough to cool the body from the inside. We’re talking about water or cold tea, not beer or sangria.

5) Creaming after bathing

Bathing in chlorinated water can irritate your skin, so it’s important to apply lotion after a good shower before heading home.

6) The filled picnic basket

In principle, it is not forbidden to eat your own salad or homemade rolls in the outdoor pool and have a perfect picnic. However, it is not always welcomed. Many bathers don’t take garbage disposal that seriously and simply leaves their cans, scraps of paper, and plastic dishes where they are. In addition, the smell of the food often attracts wasps, which could disturb other bathers. In swimming pools, there are almost always small kiosks or restaurants where you can buy and eat delicious food.

7) Supervise children

All bathers who have small children with them are responsible for their offspring. Non-swimmers should only enter the pool with arm armbands and should be supervised.

8) When the weather doesn’t cooperate

A little rain never hurts anyone, including bathers frolicking in the water. However, if a thunderstorm is approaching, every water enthusiast should leave the pool immediately and thus get out of danger. When lightning strikes the water, it causes severe burns and sometimes cardiac arrest. In strong winds, parasols and folding chairs must be put away immediately so that they do not become a dangerous projectile for other guests.

9) Let feelings run free

A bathing establishment is a public place for all people of all ages. It is therefore forbidden to indulge in sexual feelings in the water or on the lawn. Intimacies should wait until after the visit to the swimming pool!

In order to feel beautiful on the beach, you sometimes also need beautiful swimwear. This can be bought in local shops. However, well-stocked online shops offer another alternative. There are bikinis, swimsuits, and beach dresses for every woman who loves to swim and sunbathe. Staying in the water also helps with joint problems.

The figure does not play a major role in the selection of swimwear. Much more the preferences, which swimwear is worn most. If you still have a bikini top but the panties no longer fit, you can also order them separately. Sometimes a part of the favorite set was simply forgotten during the past holiday.

Swimming is the most popular sport!

Many men prefer the game of soccer as the most popular sport. For women, it’s more swimming. Because everyone feels free and light in the water. Your own bodyweight doesn’t play a big role. One advantage is that you can not only swim in the water but also dive and splash around. Even small children are introduced to being in the water in kindergarten at the latest. It later becomes part of physical education at school. After all, being able to swim in the bathtub at home is also an advantage. Anyone who hasn’t been in practice for a long time and took a break from swimming for a while will quickly get back into the sport.

Swimming is good for joint problems

Swimming is also pleasant because it puts less strain on the body. Swimming is recommended for joint problems. Whether you dare to do the sport alone, in a swimming group or in a swimming club is up to everyone’s wishes. However, it is worthwhile for everyone who has not been in deep water for a long time to start alone and slowly. A lifeguard is always there in case of an emergency. He can also give tips on which swimming style is most suitable. Another advantage is to wear sporty swimwear so that you can move freely in the water.

Choose comfortable swimwear for swimming

It can be worth going swimming once a week, especially if you have joint problems. This time should simply be taken for yourself. Pain is quickly forgotten in the water and over time the body gets used to the movement. If you are afraid of looking like a funny frog in the water at first, you should treat yourself to comfortable and beautiful swimwear. This can distract from your own movements.

It’s always good to spoil yourself with beautiful things. Once regular swimming is part of the weekly schedule and is adhered to, the body will be strengthened next summer. Then it’s time to enjoy the cool water with the children or even grandchildren. Perhaps they will learn to swim faster by splashing about in the water together? And maybe a long-awaited vacation at the beach will no longer be a problem for your own joints? These are trained and strengthened with every swim!

Goodbye joint problems

Swimming is a wonderful sport. Even with joint problems. With a nice swimming outfit and a cuddly towel, it is easy to go swimming regularly. Then the body feels light in the water and the movements are more fun again. Over time, muscles build and joints get used to the movement. Swimming mindfully can help joint problems go away over time.
