Stuffed tomatoes baked in the oven are a bright and appetizing dish with excellent taste. As a filling, let's take minced chicken, rice and vegetable sauteing - this is a good option for this kind of dishes. Stuffed tomatoes resemble stuffed peppers, but they are more juicy and slightly sour.

  1. Prepare the necessary ingredients.
  2. Rinse the rice several times until the water runs clear.
  3. Pour 750 ml of water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add 1 pinch of salt and round grain rice. Boil the rice until almost cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  4. Drain the rice in a colander and rinse with cold water. Let the water drain.
  5. Choose tomatoes for this dish that are not too large (100-120 g), with dense walls. Wash the tomatoes and wipe dry. Cut off the top of each tomato.
  6. Scoop out the flesh from the tomatoes with a spoon to form hollow cups.
  7. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  8. Grind the pulp of tomatoes.
  9. Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.
  10. Peel the carrots, wash and grate on a coarse grater.
  11. Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan and fry the onion and carrots over high heat for 4 minutes.
  12. Transfer the pulp of tomatoes to the fried vegetables.
  13. Continue sautéing the vegetable mixture over high heat for another 3 minutes, until the liquid has evaporated.
  14. Transfer the vegetable saute to a bowl and cool until warm.
  15. Add rice and minced chicken to vegetables.
  16. Add salt and ground black pepper.
  17. Stir. Stuffing for tomatoes is ready.
  18. Arrange the prepared tomatoes in a baking dish.
  19. Fill tomatoes with stuffing. Pour 100 ml of boiling water into the mold.
  20. Put the dish with stuffed tomatoes in the oven, preheated to 190 degrees. Bake tomatoes for 20 minutes.
  21. Then cover the form with foil and bake for another 20 minutes at the same temperature.
  22. Baked tomatoes stuffed with chicken and rice are ready.
  23. Serve hot stuffed tomatoes with vegetable salad.
