Beetroot fritters

Boiled beetroot snack pancakes are an original side dish for meat or a great snack served with some kind of sauce. Due to the fact that boiled beets are used, the pancakes are soft, tender and juicy, and the taste is marked by the sweetness characteristic of beets. Original and affordable!

  1. Prepare the necessary ingredients.
  2. Wash the beets thoroughly, put in a saucepan, cover with cold water, put on the stove, over high heat, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the beets for about 40 minutes, until soft. When boiling beets, you do not need to add salt to the water.
  3. Remove the boiled beets to a plate and cool at room temperature, then peel.
  4. Grate the beets on a coarse grater.
  5. Add the egg, mayonnaise, salt and black pepper to the grated beets.
  6. Stir.
  7. Then add flour and mix again.
  8. Heat up a frying pan with vegetable oil. Spread the beet mass in the pan about 1-2 tbsp. spoons, forming thin cakes.
  9. Grill the beetroot fritters over medium-low heat for about 2-3 minutes per side.
  10. Transfer the finished beet pancakes from the pan to a paper towel to absorb excess oil, and in the meantime, fry the next batch.
  11. Beetroot pancakes are ready.
  12. These pancakes are especially good when warm.
