Delicious, fragrant and crunchy bread sticks with cheese and lemon zest are a great addition to a glass of milk or a cup of tea. Cheesy grissini can also be used as an appetizer or served with your favorite sauce.

  1. We prepare all the necessary products.
  2. Butter must be frozen.
  3. Remove the zest from the lemon using a fine grater (you will need 1 tbsp. Spoon).
  4. We rub the cheese on a medium grater.
  5. Grate the butter on a coarse grater.
  6. Combine butter and cheese. We add some salt.
  7. Mix cheese and butter.
  8. Add lemon zest and milk to cheese and butter mixture.
  9. Mix everything until smooth.
  10. Then gradually adding flour, knead the dough.
  11. The dough is soft and elastic.
  12. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
  13. We cover the baking sheet with parchment.
  14. Roll out the dough into a rectangular or square layer about 5 mm thick.
  15. The layer is cut into strips 1-1.5 cm wide.
  16. We connect and twist 2 strips.
  17. Thin flagella are obtained.
  18. Place the cheese sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
  19. Bake grissini with cheese and lemon zest in a preheated oven for 15 minutes, until light golden brown.
  20. Cheese grissini with lemon zest is ready.
