Fried bell peppers with cheese

it is a sweet pepper stuffed with bryndza (cheese) and fried in breadcrumbs (in dough). This recipe is a variation on the theme of the Bulgarian dish, here the pepper is stuffed with cheese and simply fried in a pan.

  1. Remove stem and seeds from peppers.
  2. Bake the peppers in an oven preheated to 220 degrees (about 15 minutes) so that scorching appears on the peppers.
  3. While the peppers are baking, grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
  4. Finely chop all the greens.
  5. Mix cheese with herbs.
  6. Add egg, mix.
  7. Remove the peppers from the oven, cool slightly and remove the skin.
  8. Fill peeled peppers with cheese filling.
  9. Flatten a little and fry on both sides in a pan with heated vegetable oil.
  10. Fried peppers stuffed with cheese and herbs can be served both hot and cold.
