You can fry not only zucchini or eggplant. Today we will try to fry green tomatoes. Dip the tomatoes in the egg, roll in breadcrumbs or cornmeal and fry in a pan.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Wash the tomatoes, pat dry and cut into slices about 1 cm thick.
  2. Salt, pepper and set aside for now.
  3. Mix breadcrumbs with paprika.
  4. Beat the egg a little.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan.
  6. Dip the tomato slices into the egg.
  7. Then roll the tomatoes in breadcrumbs.
  8. (You can also replace the breadcrumbs with cornmeal. I fried some tomatoes in flour, some in breadcrumbs.)
  9. Immediately put the green tomatoes in hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, 3-4 minutes each.
  10. Put the finished fried tomatoes on a napkin to drain excess oil.
  11. Fried tomatoes can be eaten as an independent dish, sprinkled with coarse salt and added with any sauce of your choice (it seems to me a good option for serving with adjika, ketchup, spicy sauce or bechamel sauce, as in this case).
  12. Bon appetit!
