Delicate goat cheese and smoked trout are baked between two toasts in the oven. Such hot cheese sandwiches can be both an appetizer and a great snack between main meals.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Turn on the oven to preheat to 200 degrees. With a round shape, slightly larger in diameter than the diameter of the cheese circles, cut out circles from the bread.
  2. Brush the slices of bread with olive oil, sprinkle with thyme leaves, salt and pepper. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and roast in the oven until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the croutons from the oven and spread one teaspoon of pesto on half of them (on one side). Put fish slices on the sauce, cheese slices on top, salt and pepper, cover with clean toasts. This should make 4 burgers.
  4. Place burgers in oven for 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
  5. Serve hot cheese sandwiches with tomatoes and basil (optional).
