A simple appetizer recipe for almost all occasions. A budget and easy-to-make lavash dish resembles an open pie. Instead of dough - sheets of pita bread. And the filling is tender, sweetish fried onions with melted cheese and eggs. This combination gives great results! A hearty breakfast, a snack or a wonderful addition to a bowl of soup!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Such a simple "pie" made from pita bread is prepared quite quickly, so it is better to turn on the oven in advance to warm up to 180 degrees.
  2. Onion cut into half rings. It is not necessary to cut too thinly - this way the texture of the fried onion will be better felt in the finished dish.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and add chopped onion. Stirring constantly, fry the onion over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until golden. Then remove from heat and leave to cool.
  4. Grate melted cheese on a fine grater and transfer to a deep bowl.
  5. Add the slightly cooled fried onion to the bowl.
  6. Beat eggs, add a pinch of salt and ground black pepper.
  7. To stir thoroughly.
  8. Cover the form with parchment or grease with a small amount of vegetable oil.
  9. Lavash sheets are folded on top of each other and lined with them so that the edges of the pita bread hang slightly from the edges of the form, forming sides, and the filling does not leak out during baking.
  10. Put the stuffing of fried onion and melted cheese on pita bread.
  11. Bake a lazy "pie" of pita bread in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
  12. Appetizing pita stuffed with fried onions and melted cheese is ready. It remains only to cool it slightly, cut into pieces and serve.
  13. Such the simplest onion "pie" from pita bread is equally good both hot and cold.
  14. Bon appetit!
