Surprise your family with an unusual onion dish!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the ingredients according to the list. It is better to take high-quality tomato juice - the tastier it is, the tastier the sauce and onion pancakes will be.
  2. Peel and grate the onion and garlic cloves on a fine grater.
  3. Pour in the semolina.
  4. Mix everything well and let the mass brew for 10 minutes so that the semolina swells and the mixture thickens.
  5. Add eggs, salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Mix everything well again. The dough for onion fritters is ready, you can start frying.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Portions of 1 tbsp. spoon the dough into the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes on one side.
  8. Then flip the pancakes and fry until golden brown on the other side (approximately 2-3 more minutes). Put the fried pancakes on a plate and repeat the process with the remaining dough.
  9. When the dough is over, and the pancakes are ready, place the resulting pancakes in the pan.
  10. Pour in the tomato juice, add salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  11. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer the pancakes for 15 minutes.
  12. Onion pancakes in tomato sauce are ready. Lay the fritters on a plate. Pour the remaining tomato sauce into a gravy boat and serve with pancakes. Garnish each plate with lettuce leaves, if desired, and serve.
  13. Bon appetit!
