An original quick snack with just four ingredients. The colorful pumpkin slices are lightly toasted and then baked with bacon and cheese. The light sweetness of pumpkin successfully sets off the salty taste of cheese and fragrant bacon. In a few minutes you get a bright and unusual snack. Try it!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the items on the list.
  2. Such pumpkin sandwiches are prepared quite quickly, so it is best to turn on the oven in advance to warm up to a temperature of 190-200 degrees.
  3. Peel the pumpkin and cut into rectangles about 0.5 cm thick. The width of the pumpkin pieces should be slightly larger than the strips of bacon, and the length should be enough so that the length of the bacon is enough to wrap the pieces. In my case, it turned out 5x6.5 cm. Cut the cheese into slices of the same size as the pumpkin pieces. For each strip of bacon, there should be 2 slices of pumpkin and 1 slice of cheese, i.e. total 16 pieces of pumpkin and 8 cheese.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Fry the pumpkin pieces for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until lightly golden brown. If necessary, repeat the process, frying all the pieces of pumpkin.
  5. Place a slice of cheese on each piece of roasted pumpkin. Cover the cheese with one piece of toasted pumpkin. Get a kind of "sandwiches" of pumpkin and cheese.
  6. Wrap each pumpkin sandwich with a strip of bacon.
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the prepared pumpkin sandwiches a short distance apart.
  8. Place the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 190-200 degrees (can also be under the grill), and bake for about 10 minutes, until the bacon is lightly browned and the cheese is melted.
  9. Pumpkin cheese sandwiches are ready. The most delicious is such an original hot appetizer.
  10. Bon appetit!
