Ragout of lettuce, green peas and onions

A light vegetable dish is prepared quickly and simply. Vegetable stew with peas is served as a side dish or as an appetizer.

  1. Heat half the butter in a large heavy saucepan over low heat. Put the chopped lettuce heads into the pan, pour the coarsely chopped onion. Mix vegetables well with oil, salt and pepper to taste. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the vegetables for about 5 minutes, stirring once.
  2. Then pour green peas into the pan, mix with vegetables. Pour vegetables with 120 g of water and simmer under a closed lid for about 5 minutes. Then remove the lid and cook the vegetable stew with peas until the liquid has evaporated.
  3. Add the remaining butter to the pot with the vegetables, stir and place the vegetable stew with the peas on a serving platter.
