An interesting recipe for delicious, fragrant, mouth-watering and crispy snack potato sticks in the oven. We prepare the sticks on the basis of shortcrust pastry, but with the addition of mashed potatoes. Let's make three flavors: with sesame seeds, with Italian herbs and with butter with dill and garlic. The last option is the most fragrant! Such an appetizer instantly flies off the table.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Peel potatoes, chop coarsely, put in a pot of water and put on fire. Boil potatoes for 25 minutes. Drain water and mash potatoes.
  2. Set aside one tablespoon of butter, and cut the rest into pieces and transfer to a bowl with flour. Pour in a pinch of salt.
  3. Rub butter and flour.
  4. Add mashed potatoes.
  5. Knead soft dough.
  6. Transfer the dough to a bowl, wrap with cling film and refrigerate for 40 minutes.
  7. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.
  8. After a while, take the dough out of the refrigerator, roll it into a layer and cut into three strips.
  9. Cut each piece of dough crosswise into strips about 10 cm long and 2-3 cm wide.
  10. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the blanks there. In total, I got two pans.
  11. Break the egg, separate the white from the yolk. Shake the yolk with a fork and grease the blanks.
  12. Sprinkle one row of sticks with sesame seeds, the second with Italian herbs, and leave the third row empty.
  13. Bake potato sticks at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
  14. Peel the garlic and pass through a press.
  15. Chop greens.
  16. Mix the reserved butter with dill and garlic.
  17. Get a baking sheet and grease the third (empty) row of sticks with oil and herbs.
  18. The sticks come out layered and crispy, with great flavor.
  19. You can serve potato sticks to the table just like that or with first courses, such as soup or broth. If you decide to get together with a company, the sticks can be served with sauce, with a glass of cold beer, and they are also in perfect harmony with cheese slices and wine.
  20. Versatile snack!
  21. Bon appetit!
