Known for a long time, turnips can be quite a modern and tasty dish. Turnips can be boiled, fried, steamed, mashed, added to soups instead of potatoes. Stuffed turnips are especially tasty, stuffed with mushrooms, cheese and vegetables.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Wash the turnip, pour boiling water over it and leave for 2 minutes.
  2. Then drain and fill with cold water.
  3. After that, peel the turnip. Return to the pot, cover with water and cook until soft, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Simultaneously prepare the stuffing for the turnips. Peel the onion, carrot and bell pepper. Cut into cubes.
  5. Cut mushrooms into slices.
  6. Saute mushrooms in a pan.
  7. Then add onions and carrots, fry for 5 minutes. Add bell pepper, fry for 5 more minutes. Season with salt, pepper and ground coriander.
  8. Add cream to the filling, mix and simmer under the lid for 5-7 minutes.
  9. Grate the cheese.
  10. Set aside two tablespoons of cheese, add the rest of the cheese to the filling and mix.
  11. Remove the boiled turnip from the water, cool slightly. Use a spoon to scoop out the flesh from the turnip (the pulp of the turnip can be used for cooking other dishes, for example, added to soup).
  12. Fill the turnips with stuffing. Stuff rather tightly, with a slide, but carefully so that the turnip does not break.
  13. Place the stuffed turnip in a ceramic baking dish, pour in a little water, about 1 cm. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the turnip.
  14. Put the turnips with mushrooms and cheese in an oven heated to 180 degrees. Bake stuffed turnips for 15-20 minutes.
  15. Transfer the prepared turnip stuffed with mushrooms and cheese to plates and serve hot. Bon appetit.
