This dish has a rich taste and deep aroma thanks to cumin, paprika, coriander and cinnamon. The best addition to it will be sour cream and chopped herbs.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Fry the chopped onion for 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  2. Add the lamb and cook together for 5-7 minutes. Stir so that no large lumps remain.
  3. Sprinkle with spices and salt, stir and cook for another 1 minute.
  4. Add tomato paste. After a minute, add the chickpeas, medium-sized tomatoes, potatoes and carrots to the pan. Pour in broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Canned tomatoes can be replaced with fresh ones.
  6. When the soup boils, reduce the heat to low so that the liquid barely boils. Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Add chopped spinach and remove from heat after a minute or two.
  8. Serve with sour cream and chopped herbs.
