Delicious soft, airy cakes with yeast and varenets. You can take any of the leftovers, smoked cheese is especially good in such cakes. Oil is better than Extra Virgin

Ingredients

Directions

  1. We dilute the yeast in warm water (approx. 1 tablespoon). After a few minutes add warm varenets, sugar and salt. Then rub 300 g of cheese on a fine grater. Put 200 g in the dough, and leave 100 g for sprinkling. Add vegetable oil and flour (500 g) to the dough. The dough will turn out to be soft and sticky, leave it in a warm place for 1 hour to rise.
  2. Then, when the dough has increased in volume, add another 300 g of flour and knead the harder dough. We divide it into several parts according to the number of cakes (I divided 320 g into 5 cakes).
  3. Use our hands and a rolling pin to form a cake so that there is a small depression in the middle. Lubricate the cakes with a beaten egg on top, sprinkle with the rest of the cheese. If desired, you can sprinkle more sesame seeds on top.
  4. We bake our cheese cakes in the oven for 20 minutes. Oven temperature 180 degrees. Hot tortillas can be additionally greased with butter on top and served.
  5. They go well with first courses as bread. You can just eat with tea or coffee.
