One of my favorite dishes since childhood is kutia, my mother cooked it both for Christmas and on ordinary days. I am sure your children will also like it if you cook them kutya with halva.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. I buy wheat already polished, because it cooks faster and tastes better.
  2. I soak the poppy for 6-8 hours in cold water.
  3. I boil wheat in sweetened water in a 1: 2 ratio. After boiling, it should cook for 20 minutes (depending on the variety and preparation of the wheat, cook until tender).
  4. I roll the nuts through a meat grinder (medium mesh).
  5. I wash the raisins under running water.
  6. It is better to buy halva with peanuts or dried apricots.
  7. I boil the water and set it to cool. I mix boiled wheat, raisins, nuts, halva, half a portion of sugar, honey.
  8. I fill everything with water at room temperature. The water should cover all the ingredients. While the sugar and halva dissolve in the kutya, let's turn to poppy seeds.
  9. I strain the poppy from the water and put it in the makitra.
  10. I rub the poppy with "makogon" until the appearance of white "milk". Once again I grind the poppy with sugar.
  11. I fill the poppy with water. It turns out a white sweet liquid with crushed poppy seeds, which I pour into kutya, where sugar and halva have already dissolved.
  12. Our family loves liquid kutya. So I add some more water, stir everything, add sugar to taste and serve.
