Capelin is a simple, but very appetizing and budget fish. Many housewives are used to only frying it, not knowing that you can create a lot of different snacks from this seafood. Capelin marinated with spices - one of the options for delicious and savory dishes

  1. We spread all the recommended spices in a deep bowl. Lightly crush them with a pusher.
  2. We make a marinade: we combine lime juice, oil, sugar, table or sea salt. Grind a clove of garlic and add it to the sauce or add 0.25 tsp. dried garlic. Combine spices and prepared marinade in a bowl.
  3. We clean the capelin carcasses from the insides and the head, put them in the marinade.
  4. In the next step, chop the onion in random strips and add it to the fish. We combine all the ingredients, send the capelin to marinate in a cold place for 2-3 hours.
  5. We make a fillet of pickled capelin, use it at your discretion or serve with boiled potato or sweet potato tubers.
  6. For a festive table, we recommend serving pickled capelin in the form of a canapé.
