Crab sticks baked in puff pastry are a delicious appetizer that will help out in any situation. You can treat unexpected guests, or just have a snack, adding crab sticks in the dough with sauce according to your mood. Ready-made puff pastry and crab stick filling cut your time for preparing the appetizer to a few minutes, plus a short baking time in the oven. Hearty, simple and delicious.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare food.
  2. Defrost puff pastry and crab sticks by moving them from the freezer to the refrigerator for several hours (or from evening to morning).
  3. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.
  4. Sprinkle a work surface with flour, put the defrosted puff pastry there and roll it out to a thickness of 2-3 mm. Cut the dough into strips 1.5-2 cm wide. I cut a little more strips of dough than the number of sticks - they may be needed if one strip is not enough to wrap the entire crab stick.
  5. Fasten the edge of the strip of dough to one side of the crab stick. Moving in a spiral, tightly wrap the crab stick with dough, pinch the edges. Try to ensure that with each turn the edge of the strip of dough slightly covers the previous one and there are no gaps between them.
  6. If the dough dries out a little while working, grease its surface with a little water so that the strips stick to each other better.
  7. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment. Place crab sticks in puff pastry at a small distance from each other and brush with egg yolk.
  8. Sprinkle each piece with a pinch of sesame seeds.
  9. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the puff pastry with crab sticks for about 25 minutes.
  10. Crab sticks in puff pastry are ready.
  11. Garnish the plate with a lettuce leaf, if desired.
  12. Serve hot, warm or chilled with a sauce of your choice. This time I had mayonnaise with mustard and herbs. Tomato sauce or ketchup is also suitable.
  13. Bon appetit!
