We prepare original cabbage snack envelopes stuffed with ham, cheese, dill and garlic. The principle of preparation is a bit like cabbage rolls. However, unlike cabbage rolls, such cabbage envelopes are breaded and then fried in a pan until golden brown.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. We prepare the necessary products.
  2. Cabbage should be soft, medium in size.
  3. Dill wash and dry.
  4. We clean the cabbage from damaged leaves and cut out the stalk.
  5. Boil water in a saucepan. There should be enough water so that the head of cabbage is completely covered with water. Put cabbage in a saucepan, bring water to a boil again. Boil cabbage for 3 minutes.
  6. Using two forks, carefully remove the cabbage leaf and place in a bowl. Before removing each next sheet, let the cabbage boil for 1 minute. A total of 11 sheets need to be removed. Let the cabbage leaves cool completely.
  7. We cut the ham. It will take 11 thin circles.
  8. We rub the cheese on a fine grater. Finely chop the dill. We clean the garlic and pass it through a press. Put everything on a plate and mix.
  9. From the cooled cabbage leaves, cut out the central thick vein.
  10. Add oregano, paprika, dried garlic, salt and pepper to the breadcrumbs. We mix.
  11. Beat the eggs with a fork.
  12. Put a circle of ham on the edge of the cabbage leaf, add 2 tbsp. cheese spoons. We wrap the edge of the sheet with the filling so that the ham folds in half and the cheese is inside. Then we wrap it as we form cabbage rolls. So we do with all the sheets and stuffing.
  13. Dip each roll in flour, then dip in egg and coat in breadcrumbs. I recommend breading all the rolls, and then frying.
  14. In a frying pan, heat 2 tbsp. tablespoons of vegetable oil and lay out the prepared rolls with the seam down.
  15. Fry cabbage rolls over medium heat on each side for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  16. Serve fried cabbage envelopes with ham and cheese hot, adding sauce if desired.
  17. Bon appetit!
