Crushed Japanese green tea leaves are a culinary trend that has been breaking all records for several years now.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1. Take the indicated amount of matcha powder and sift it through a metal sieve. Bring water to a boil and then cool to 75–80°C.
  2. 2. Pour hot water over the tea powder. Next, start vigorously stirring the drink until foam appears. Traditionally, a special bamboo whisk is used for this. You can also use a manual cappuccinatore.
  3. 3. Heat the milk in the microwave or on the stove to 45°C. Add sugar, and stir. Whisk warm milk with a cappuccinatore until frothy.
  4. 4. Carefully pour the milk into the tea. Top with a pinch of matcha powder for garnish.
  5. If this is your first time introducing matcha tea into your diet, do it gradually, starting with small portions. It is important to make sure that you do not have individual intolerance to this drink. And one more thing: drinking matcha on an empty stomach is not recommended, as it increases the acidity of the stomach, which can cause heartburn.
