Potato chips are super easy to make at home! A microwave will come to the rescue, which will dry out thin slices of potatoes and make them brittle and crispy. For the preparation of chips we will use only natural products. Unlike the purchased ones, the taste of homemade chips is more "potato", natural, and seasonings - smoked paprika and a mixture of dried Italian herbs - will also make them very fragrant!

  1. Prepare the necessary ingredients.
  2. Herbs, spices and spices can be selected according to your taste.
  3. Peel potatoes, wash and pat dry with paper towels. Cut the potatoes into thin slices of the same thickness. You need to cut the potatoes very, very thinly, so I advise you not to use a knife, but some kind of kitchen gadget such as a mandolin, a vegetable peeler, or a special wide grater for slices.
  4. Transfer the potato slices to a bowl.
  5. Pour the potato slices with clean cold water and leave for 1 hour.
  6. Then drain the water, pour the potatoes again with clean cold water for another 1 hour. This will wash out the excess potato starch and make the chips crispy.
  7. Lay the potato slices in a single layer on a clean kitchen towel and let dry for 10 minutes.
  8. Then transfer the potato slices to a clean, dry bowl.
  9. Add salt, a mixture of dried Italian herbs and ground paprika. Pour in vegetable oil.
  10. Use your hand to toss the potato slices. The oil and spices should be well distributed over the potato slices.
  11. From baking parchment, cut out a circle the same diameter as the microwave tray plate, and cover this plate with it.
  12. Place a portion of the potato slices on the prepared plate in a single layer.
  13. Cook the chips in the microwave at 800 watts for about 3 minutes.
  14. Then turn the potato slices over to the other side.
  15. And cook the chips at 800 watts for another 2 minutes.
  16. Thus, I prepared one batch of chips for 5 minutes. It was with these parameters that we managed to get golden and dry chips, not burnt and not wet - just what we needed.
  17. Prepare the rest of the chips in the same way. In total, I got 4 approaches.
  18. From 400 g of potato chips, a little less than 100 g came out.
