Delightful exotic beef and vegetable soup infused with the flavors of Asian cuisine. Vegetables - sweet potato, radish (it comes with healthy tops) and onions - are cooked in broth with a sweet-spicy teriyaki sauce. Pour the prepared soup into bowls and top with the crispy teriyaki-flavored sirloin steak. To prevent the lean steak from drying out and staying tender, roast it until lightly cooked, then slice it thinly across the grain. Sprinkle each serving with dark sesame oil and enjoy the soup's mouth-watering aroma and warming flavor.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Chop the radish greens coarsely. Cut the radish into 8 pieces. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Mix 2 tablespoons in a bowl. l. teriyaki sauce, 2 tbsp. l. oyster sauce, 1 tsp. ginger and 0.5 tsp. pepper, then apply to the steak. Lightly grease the grill pan with vegetable oil, then sauté the steak for about 5 minutes on each side for medium heat. Transfer to a cutting board and rest for 5 minutes, then chop thinly.
  2. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, bring the remaining 3 tablespoons to a boil. l. teriyaki sauce, 1 tbsp. l. oyster sauce and 2 tsp. ginger, vinegar, brown sugar and 2.5 tbsp. water and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Add sweet potatoes, radishes and white onions and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes. Add the radish and onion greens and cook until slightly soft, about 5 minutes. Divide vegetables, broth and steak into bowls. Drizzle with dark sesame oil.
