After I learned this recipe for bread from yeast potato dough, not a single picnic is complete without it. Potato bread with ham can perfectly replace the notorious sandwiches.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Remove the potato skins after washing the vegetables thoroughly. Then grate the tubers on a fine grater or chop in a meat grinder. Squeeze out the liquid (you can use a sieve or just by hand).
  2. Cook half of the prepared potatoes in boiling milk for 5 minutes, then set aside and cool.
  3. Toss the rest of the potatoes with the caraway seeds, marjoram, salt, chopped garlic, an egg, and finely diced ham or other smoked or cooked sausage.
  4. You can take more sausages, since this is exactly the case when you cannot spoil the porridge with butter.
  5. Crumble fresh yeast into cooled milk with potatoes, mix. Be sure to wait until it cools down, otherwise you will "kill" the yeast and the bread will not rise.
  6. Mix the contents of both bowls together. Salt the dough
  7. Stir in the sifted wheat flour little by little, knead the batter. It should be similar in consistency to pancake or pancake dough.
  8. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and transfer the finished bread dough into it. If the mold is Teflon or silicone, you do not need to lubricate.
  9. Place in a warm place for 20-30 minutes for the yeast to start working.
  10. Bake potato bread in an oven preheated to 170 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Readiness must be checked with a wooden stick.
  11. If the stick remains dry, you can remove the potato bread from the oven.
  12. Be sure to cool it down, as hot baked goods are not very good for the stomach. Now enjoy the delicious and original potato bread with ham.
