Cabbage stewed with brisket and potatoes

Stew cabbage with meat. And we will take fresh cabbage together with sauerkraut. And add potatoes. Royal lunch.

  1. Rinse sauerkraut, squeeze well.
  2. Cut fresh cabbage into thin strips.
  3. Peel the onion, wash, cut into thin half rings.
  4. Wash the pork brisket. Cut into small pieces (1.5x1.5 cm).
  5. Preheat a frying pan, pour in vegetable oil. Put onion in hot oil. Fry over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes.
  6. Add meat. Fry, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes.
  7. If the pan has low sides, then transfer the meat to the cauldron. Add sauerkraut and fresh cabbage.
  8. Mix. Simmer covered, over low heat, 30-40 minutes (stirring occasionally).
  9. In the meantime, bring the kettle to a boil. Peel and wash potatoes, cut into pieces, put in a saucepan, pour boiling water over. Cook over low heat until soft (about 15-20 minutes).
  10. Drain the water from the finished potatoes. Put the potatoes in a cauldron to the cabbage with meat. Season with salt and pepper, add bay leaves, sugar. Mix. Simmer all together for 10-15 minutes.
