  1. Line a round dish with a diameter of about 22 cm for an open tart with strawberries, line with good quality baking paper. Can be lightly greased with butter or vegetable oil.
  2. Prepare open pie dough. In a bowl, combine sugar, sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Grate very cold butter into the resulting flour mixture on a coarse grater and rub quickly with your fingers until crumbs are obtained.
  3. Separately, in a small bowl, lightly beat the egg with vanilla extract and pour into the flour crumbs. Stir quickly. Wrap the fourth part of the dough in plastic foil and put it in the refrigerator. Place the rest in an open cake pan.
  4. For the filling of an open pie, sort the strawberries and place them in a colander. Rinse with running water and pat dry well on a paper towel. Peel and cut into small cubes.
  5. Mix prepared strawberries with sugar and cornstarch. Spread the filling over the dough in the mold. Distribute the rest over the filling in small portions.
  6. Heat the oven to 175 ° C. Bake the open strawberry pie 45 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool completely in the pan, then transfer to a plate and serve.
