The combination of light sourness of cherries, airy meringue and juicy, fragrant pie will leave few people indifferent.

  1. We prepare the necessary ingredients for making a cake-pie with cherries and meringue.
  2. I want to note right away that the amount of sugar can be reduced, but if the cherry is very sour, I recommend leaving the indicated amount to balance the taste.
  3. The eggs are divided into whites and yolks. Add a pinch of salt to the proteins and send them to the refrigerator to cool.
  4. Grind the yolks with 1 cup of sugar.
  5. Add sour cream and mayonnaise, add baking powder and beat with a mixer until smooth.
  6. Then add flour and mix until the dough is smooth.
  7. Grease a baking dish with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  8. We spread the dough in a mold and send it to bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes. Focus on your oven.
  9. Beat the chilled egg whites with the remaining sugar until stable peaks.
  10. Put cherries without juice on top of the baked pie.
  11. Spread beaten egg whites over cherries.
  12. We send the pie with cherries and meringue back to the preheated oven at a temperature of 140 degrees until the meringue dries and browns.
