Solyanka "Country style" with bacon

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Fry the bacon in vegetable oil.
  2. Cut the onion into cubes, rub the carrots on a coarse grater. Add vegetables to bacon and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Remove the skin from the tomatoes.
  4. Cut the tomato into cubes.
  5. Add the tomatoes and simmer for another 10 minutes. Finely chop the cabbage and add to the bacon with vegetables.
  6. Add salt, spices to taste and fill with water so that it slightly covers the vegetables.
  7. Simmer cabbage until half cooked. Cut the potatoes at random and add to the rest of the vegetables.
  8. Cover with a lid and simmer until the potatoes are cooked, this is about 20 minutes. Five minutes until cooked, add the bay leaf.
  9. Well, that's our rural hodgepodge is ready!
