  3. Cut the potatoes into cubes and add to the soup when the barley is almost ready. Peel the onions and carrots. Chop them and fry the onions first. Fry in butter for 3-4 minutes. Then add the shredded carrots and cook for another 4-5 minutes. Then send the frying to the soup and cook until the potatoes are completely cooked. After removing the soup from the heat, immediately throw finely chopped greens into it - onions, parsley and dill and let it brew for about 15 minutes.
