Fried rice with barley and meat

Sometimes you want to cook something quickly, nutritiously and without any problems. Pearl barley, in my opinion, is great for this, but it is not deservedly forgotten by our cooks.
It contains a lot of nutrients: essential minerals and vitamins. Barley porridge is very satisfying. Having eaten a portion of barley porridge in the morning, we get a boost of energy for the whole day.

  1. Boil water in a saucepan, add pearl barley and red rice, cook until all other ingredients are fried in a pan.
  2. In a frying pan, fry the chopped onion until transparent, add the carrots (in cubes), fry for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the strips of chicken breasts and fry for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add basmati rice and fry until golden brown for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Drain the pearl barley and rice and add to the pan with rice and meat, mix. Add spices and salt.
  6. Pour boiling water over the rice so that the rice is covered by 1.5 fingers. Close the lid, do not interfere. Reduce fire. Cook for 15 minutes. Disconnect and let stand under the lid for 10 minutes.
  7. Open the lid, with a fork, in a circular motion, stir.
