Mate is a drink like tea in Latin America. It is especially drunk in Argentina, Chile and Paraguay. Mate has tonic properties. It is stronger than tea and coffee. In addition, the mat contains many more vitamins.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pour a handful of mate into the bucket.Pour in a little cold water and let sit for a couple of minutes.
  2. Then pour boiling water over: 1 glass for one handful of mate. Let it brew for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain through a sieve and enjoy your drink. Mate has a rather bitter taste. In Argentina, they drink it just like that, but in Chile they often add sugar or honey or drink it with a bit of chocolate. One and the same portion of mate can be brewed 3-4 times a day, each time draining all the remaining liquid, but the next day it is better to throw out the infusion.
