Not everyone likes pea puree, and housewives sometimes do not want to spend a lot of time on its preparation. But we will be happy to share with fans a reliable recipe for pea puree with the exact proportions - so as not to burn, not liquid or dry or too thick. Just try it, and in a few times you will adapt and you will know exactly how to cook peas - fresh or dry, whole or chopped.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pour the peas into a saucepan and fill with water - 2-3 cm above the level of peas. It is best to soak peas overnight, so they will cook very quickly. If it does not work, then soak for at least 3-4 hours. Dry peas will cook twice as long as soaked
  2. Drain the water and thoroughly wash the peas several times with a colander.
  3. Pour peas into a saucepan with a thick bottom and fill with water - 2.5 cups.
  4. After boiling, remove the foam and reduce the heat to low.
  5. Add salt and cook, stirring occasionally, for 40-50 minutes.
  6. When the peas are cooked, pour out the excess liquid, add butter and sugar, beat with a blender or grind with a pestle.
  7. Our pea porridge is almost ready - the recipe, as you can see, is not more complicated than mashed potatoes. All you have to do is fry it, if you want, with fried onions, garnish with greens and serve.
