Rice with carrots and onions

Use Jasmine rice or choose rice with a cooking time of 12 minutes.

  1. Cut a small onion into cubes, pour vegetable oil into a saucepan and put onions there. Fry it over medium heat until slightly golden brown.
  2. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, add them to the onion and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and add 1 cup rice and 1.5 cups water, finely chopped garlic, salt and stir.
  4. Put on a high heat, do not cover with a lid.
  5. After the water has boiled, put on a very slow gas and close completely with a lid.
  6. Cook for exactly 12 minutes without opening the pot lid.
