Homemade pies are consistently popular all year round. Such a cabbage pie can be prepared for any festive table - New Year's, Shrovetide or Easter.

  1. Preheat oven to 180 ° C. For the dough, sift the flour into a bowl with a slide, add salt, sugar, egg and sour cream. Put yeast in the center of the slide, pour in warm milk. Knead the dough.   2. Gather the dough into a ball, brush with vegetable oil, place in a large, clean bowl. Tighten with plastic wrap, make holes in it with a toothpick, put in a warm place for 1.5 hours. Press the dough and leave for another 1 hour.
  3. While the dough is rising, for the filling, peel the cabbage from the upper leaves, remove the stump, chop the cabbage. Sprinkle with a little salt, leave for 15 minutes, until the juice comes out, and squeeze vigorously.
  4. Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan, add the cabbage and cook for 3 minutes. top up with milk, cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the liquid evaporates. Remove from heat, add chopped eggs, salt and let cool.
  5. Separate 1/3 from the dough. Roll out most (2/3) and place in a mold with a diameter of 30–32 cm so that the edges hang down. Put the filling on the dough, cover with hanging edges.
  6. Roll out the remaining dough, cover the cake, pinch the edges, trim off the excess. From the scraps, make a cake decoration, put on the surface.
  7. Beat the egg with a pinch of salt and spread the dough thoroughly. Make several holes for the steam to escape. Bake in the lower third of the oven for about 1 hour. Brush the pie with butter, let cool and serve.
