Quick Chicken and Potato Pie

I will share a cake recipe that my family loved. Yeast-free dough is unpretentious and does not require proofing. You can take different meats for the filling, but the most delicate pie is made with chicken.

Ingredients

  1. Melt the margarine (preferably in a water bath). Cool slightly.
  2. Add sour cream, egg, salt, sugar and soda, quenched with vinegar to the melted margarine.
  3. To mix everything.
  4. Pour in the sifted flour and knead a soft dough that will roll out well. You may need a little more flour or less than 2.5 cups. The finished dough should keep its shape well.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and leave to rest for 7-10 minutes.
  6. During this time, I manage to prepare the filling.
  7. Cut the chicken into small pieces.
  8. Finely chop a small onion (my onion was very large, so I took a quarter of an onion).
  9. Either cut the potatoes into thin slices or grate them on a coarse grater. It's easier for me to rub.
  10. In a bowl, combine chicken, onion and grated potatoes, salt to taste. Mix.
  11. If desired, you can add ground pepper, chopped herbs, or other seasonings. I peppered a little.
  12. Turn on the oven to heat up to 190 degrees.
  13. Grease the mold (I have a large frying pan) with vegetable oil. Divide the rested dough into two parts - large and small. Roll out most of it - this will be the base of the pie. The thickness of the dough is 5-7 mm. Gently lay the base into a mold, with an allowance for the side.
  14. Spread the filling evenly.
  15. Roll out a smaller part of the dough in the same way and cover the filling with it. Carefully pinch the edges of the dough in a circle. Chop the top of the cake with a fork.
  16. Bake a quick pie with chicken and potatoes in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Grease the top of the finished cake with butter.
  17. The quick chicken and potato pie is ready. Bon Appetit!
