Cake "Prague" is quite simple to prepare when compared with other cake recipes. There are different variations of the Prague cake. This is a recipe for a Prague cake without eggs - the cakes are cooked in sour cream and vegetable oil. Jam for the cake is not used. But still, chocolate cakes, chocolate butter cream and chocolate icing remain unchanged.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Let's start with a test. Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl: flour (necessarily sifted), cocoa (it is also desirable to sift), sugar and baking powder. Let's mix.
  2. In another bowl, mix the liquid components of the dough: water, sour cream and vegetable oil.
  3. Add the liquid mixture to the dry.
  4. Mix everything vigorously.
  5. The baking dish should be pre-prepared, that is, grease the inside with a piece of butter, line the bottom with baking paper. Pour the chocolate dough into the mold.
  6. We will bake the chocolate sponge cake on sour cream in the oven, heated to 180 degrees, for 60 minutes. Times are approximate and will vary depending on your oven.
  7. Cut the finished, completely cooled chocolate biscuit into three approximately identical cakes. It is very convenient to use a strong thread for this. With a sharp knife, notches are made along the side surface of the biscuit in a circle, and a thread is pulled into these notches. Biscuit cakes are very neat.
  8. Prepare buttercream. To do this, beat softened butter (200 g) at high speed with a mixer.
  9. Add one tablespoon of cocoa and condensed milk. Let's continue beating for another minute. Cream for the cake is ready.
  10. Let's collect the Prague cake. Put the cream on the bottom cake, evenly spread over the surface. Cover with the next cake, cover it with a layer of cream. Lay the third cake on top.
  11. Let's prepare the icing from an equal amount of chocolate and butter by melting them in a water bath.
  12. Let's cover the Prague cake with a slightly cooled icing. On top, as a decoration, you can sprinkle the cake with grated chocolate.
  13. Place the chocolate cake in the refrigerator for 4-5 hours.
  14. Prague cake is ready.
