We tried a German recipe - potato dumplings (schupfnudeln) with garlic sausages. Very tasty! Garlic-flavored sausages and tender dumplings that melt in your mouth! Whoever tried it, everyone is delighted! Now we will repeat this dish often!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In the evening (this is more convenient) we will prepare minced meat for sausages. If you are using not very fatty minced meat, then add some additional fat, such as beef or pork, otherwise the sausages will turn out to be dry.
  2. Add the prepared spices to the meat, mix well. Cover with foil and put the minced meat in the refrigerator overnight (or at least 2-3 hours).
  3. It's time (lunch is coming soon) to do some German dumplings. We will prepare all the products. We send potatoes to boil in salted water.
  4. While the potatoes are on the stove, we will make sausages (sausages), preferably of the same length. You can shape and roll sausages with your hands (I did this before), or you can skip the minced meat through a meat grinder using a special sausage attachment.
  5. Put the sausages in a frying pan with a small amount of vegetable oil (1 tablespoon) and fry until tender.
  6. Drain the potato broth. We leave the potatoes in a saucepan over the fire for 1-2 minutes, so that all the moisture has completely evaporated.
  7. Crush mashed potatoes.
  8. Add flour, starch, yolks and spices to mashed potatoes.
  9. Knead the dough. If the dough is very sticky to your hands, add a couple more tablespoons of starch.
  10. We dust the table well with flour, divide the dough into small pieces. And we roll traditional dumplings - small potato sticks are thicker in the middle than at the edges. The Germans do it with three fingers, but two hands are enough for me. :)
  11. Boil the dumplings for two minutes in boiling water and transfer to a preheated pan with the remaining vegetable oil. Fry the dumplings in vegetable oil until golden brown.
  12. Serve dumplings with sausages.
  13. To understand how delicious it is, you have to cook! Cook for yourself and your family with love and pleasure!
