  1. These are all the ingredients you need to cook king prawns. Most likely, you, like me, have boiled-frozen shrimp, although there are also those that were frozen raw. They differ in color. If the shrimp are bright pink in color, it means that they were heat treated before being frozen. If the shrimp is gray-green, it means that they were frozen without processing. The cooking time of shrimp depends on this.
  2. Step 2. First of all, put a large pot of water on the stove and bring to a boil, the ratio of shrimp to water is at least 1: 2. When the water boils, add salt - do not be alarmed, we will need quite a lot of it - for 1 liter of water we need 40-45 g of salt. If your shrimp is already peeled, the amount of salt should be halved.
  3. Step 3. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon directly into the pan, then cut it into 4 parts and put it here
  4. Step 4. Add the bay leaf - it blends perfectly with the shrimp flavor
  5. Step 5. Add other dry spices - cloves, allspice and black peppercorns, here they will be very useful
  6. Step 6. Add sprigs of parsley or dill, you can take both dry parsley and dill, and herbs, the aroma of dried and fresh herbs is somewhat different. The set of spices is rather arbitrary, you can use the ones I suggested, or you can add, for example, garlic, onions, a special set of spices for seafood, or other spices to your liking.
  7. Step 7. Bring the water to a boil again, and while the water is boiling, get rid of the ice shell. Very often, shrimp is sent to the pan right with it, but this is a common mistake. The fastest way to do this is to simply rinse them under running warm water - this way we will get rid of excess dirt, broken antennae and legs, as well as ice. After that, place the prepared shrimp in a saucepan.
  8. Step 8. Cook the king prawns from a simmer for about 5 minutes, if your shrimps are quite large, you will need 7 minutes. Freshly frozen shrimps with a gray-green tint need to be boiled for 8-10 minutes, and if your shrimps are already peeled, only 2-3 minutes will be enough
  9. Step 9. Pour the ready-made fragrant shrimp with lemon juice or mix lemon juice with olive oil and dip peeled shrimps in it, low-fat sour cream sauce with garlic and herbs, or a mixture of ketchup with mayonnaise is also perfect.
