A hearty potato dish - a large pancake stuffed with melted cheese and green onions. Such a pancake, reminiscent of a potato pancake, cooks in a pan quite quickly and is not difficult at all - a good nutritious breakfast or snack!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Rinse green onions, dry and chop finely with a knife.
  2. Break the egg into a small bowl, add salt, black pepper and beat lightly with a fork or whisk.
  3. Add chopped green onions.
  4. Grate the processed cheese on a coarse grater into a separate bowl.
  5. Peel, wash and dry the potatoes. Grate half of the potatoes on a coarse grater and squeeze out excess liquid.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over low heat. Lay out the grated potatoes and smooth out gently.
  7. Place the egg and green onion filling on top and flatten.
  8. Then spread the grated processed cheese evenly.
  9. Grate the remaining half of the potatoes on a coarse grater, squeeze lightly, put on top of the filling and smooth out gently. Cover the resulting potato pancake and cook over low heat for about 4-5 minutes, until the bottom is golden brown.
  10. Flip the potato pancake with a lid or plate. To do this, gently, with a sliding motion, transfer the cake to the lid and then, covering with a frying pan on top, turn it over.
  11. Cook, covered, for about 4-5 minutes. Then season with salt, pepper and cook without a lid for about 2-3 minutes on each side until crisp.
  12. Pancake is best served hot with sour cream or your favorite sauce.
  13. Bon Appetit!
