Mussels in the oven with cheese are a real feast of taste! No one will refuse such a snack, so immediately double the amount of ingredients, because many will ask for supplements!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the indicated foods. Mussels are purchased in unopened shells, best of all - frozen in a vacuum package. If the mussels are sold in open flaps - do not purchase such seafood!
  2. Step2 Melt butter in a water bath, grate hard cheese on a fine mesh grater. Peel a couple of garlic cloves, rinse and press directly onto grated cheese. Add salt and mix the whole mass. Optionally, you can add chopped greens and ground red pepper - it will add spice to the dish, but if children eat such an appetizer, remove the bitter ingredients from the list.
  3. Step 3. Using a knife, carefully open the shells and remove the second flap of each shell, cut off the muscle and stomach from the mussels, then rinse the seafood. Line the tin with foil and arrange the shells with the peeled mussels around it. If you have not found mussels on sale in shells, then purchase ordinary boiled-frozen, peeled. Rinse and lay out evenly on foil, cover with cheese mass before baking.
  4. Step 4. Put a little cheese-garlic mass in each shell, being careful not to drop it onto the mold. You can press the mass against the sinks with your hands. Place in a preheated oven and bake at 180 C for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese surface is browned.
  5. Step 5. Then remove the mold from the oven and let the cooked snack cool slightly. You can sprinkle it with chopped herbs or ground red pepper. When baking, the mussels will extract juice.
  6. Step 6. Serve the baked mussels with slices of lime or lemon to pour over the squeezed juice before tasting. Such a dish is especially tasty with a glass of white sparkling wine - very often it is prepared for a romantic dinner, because mussels are a natural aphrodisiac.
  7. Mussels baked in the oven with cheese are very juicy and tasty. This appetizer is served hot so that the melted cheese stretches during tasting. Don't forget about fresh herbs and white wine - they enhance the flavor of the baked seafood. Remember that purchasing mussels with open shells is not recommended in any case.
