An interesting recipe for making a simple vegetable stew is with meatballs. Fry vegetables and meat balls beforehand, so their taste will become richer in the finished dish. And to make the taste of the dish brighter, add the pleasant sourness of tomato sauce. Juicy, aromatic vegetables and soft meatballs are satisfying and delicious.

  1. Prepare all ingredients. You will also need 700 ml of hot water.
  2. Take any minced meat according to your taste. You can buy ready-made or cook it yourself from any type of meat. I used minced pork and chicken in a 1: 1 ratio.
  3. You can choose the seasonings to your liking.
  4. Peel, rinse and dry the onion. Cut 1 onion into small cubes and add to the minced meat in a bowl. Add salt, ground pepper (a pinch), chicken seasoning and semolina. Stir everything and beat the minced meat well.
  5. Form small balls from minced meat, it turns out about 18-20 pieces. When sculpting meat balls, hands can be moistened with water.
  6. Heat 2 tablespoons in a skillet. tablespoons of oil. Lay out the meatballs. Fry until golden brown on all sides over medium heat for 4-5 minutes. Transfer the fried meatballs to a plate.
  7. Peel the potatoes, rinse and cut into medium pieces. Fry the potatoes in the same skillet in the remaining oil over high heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Transfer the fried potatoes to a separate plate.
  8. Peel and wash the carrots. Cut the remaining onion into small cubes, carrots into small pieces. Place vegetables in an empty skillet, add vegetable oil if necessary. Fry the onions and carrots for 5-7 minutes over medium heat.
  9. Place the fried potatoes in a cauldron or thick-walled saucepan. Place the fried carrots and onions evenly on top.
  10. Cut the cabbage into medium cubes, put in the pan, add 1 tbsp. a spoonful of oil. Fry the cabbage for 5-7 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  11. Add cabbage to the cauldron, put the meatballs on top of it. Pour in 700 ml of hot water.
  12. Season with salt and ground pepper (a pinch), cover the cauldron with a lid. Bring the contents of the cauldron to a boil over high heat, and then cook for 20 minutes over low heat, covered.
  13. Dissolve the tomato sauce in 50 ml of water. Pour the mixture into a cauldron. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then simmer for 10 minutes over low heat, until tender.
  14. The potatoes, stewed with meatballs and cabbage, are ready.
